Meet the Team
David qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 after working within the legal profession for a period of 7 years and after graduating from both University with an LLB in Law and the College of Law in Chester. In David’s early legal career he specialised in personal injury litigation dealing a variety of matters including noise induced hearing loss, low velocity impact and fraud as well as both employers’ and public liability cases.
Over the course of the last five years, David helped build and lead a litigation department within a well-established practice dealing with landlord & tenant litigation, with a particular focus on assisting tenants who were living in accommodation that had fallen into disrepair. David has developed an extensive knowledge of the law surrounding disrepair and enjoys good working relationships with those regularly appointed to represent the largest social landlords based in London; enabling him to deal with matters swiftly.
David was thrilled to join Barnes Solicitors in February 2021. He hopes to build on his past experience and success and to help his clients achieve successful outcomes with as little difficulty as possible.
Senior Litigation Executive
Louis began his legal career in 2015 after graduating from Christ’s College Cambridge the preceding year. Louis’ work has covered personal injury, private client litigation and commercial litigation though at present he is primarily focused on landlord & tenant litigation, with a particular emphasis on assisting tenants living in homes that have either fallen in to disrepair or are not fit for human habitation within the current legislative framework. Louis also has extensive experience acting for tenants seeking to bring prosecutions against their landlord under environmental health legislation and welcomes all manner of instructions from tenants in need of assistance.
A qualified Spanish lawyer, Eva Duran completed an LLM in International Law, Trade and Transport at London Metropolitan University.
She has gained experience through her work in English law firms in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy, International Transport Law, Commercial Arbitration, Personal Injury and Housing Disrepair. She currently assists Arthur Barnes in Housing Disrepair matters.
Eva is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Having graduated from University of Plymouth with a LLB (Hons) degree, Sarina Mahmi is a high achieving academic who has excelled working as a Legal PR executive as well as having exposure to working with the Magistrates’ Court.
Sarina is a Legal Assistant specialising in Housing Disrepair matters at Barnes Solicitors. Outside of work, Sarina volunteers for the Middlesex Blind Association and gives her time regularly to help people with sight loss.
James is a Legal Assistant working in Housing Disrepair matters.
James graduated with a Masters in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London in 2016. Since then he has worked in the housing disrepair sector for more than two years.
When not at work, James enjoys eating out at interesting restaurants. He is a keen sports fan and an avid skier.
Samita is a Legal Assistant working in the Housing Disrepair Department.
Samita graduated from SOAS, University of London with a LLB (Hons) degree in 2019.
Outside of work, Samita volunteers for the London Welfare Homeless Team and regularly organises outreach events to help the homeless.
Ammar is a legal graduate who has most recently completed a Masters( LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Sheffield in 2019.
He is currently working as a Legal Assistant at Barnes Solicitors LLP dealing with Housing Disrepair matters.
Outside of work, Ammar partakes in all forms of sporting activity but is particularly passionate about Football and Mixed Martial Arts.
Oreoluwa graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2020, with an LLB ( Hons) degree.
She is currently working as a legal assistant at the firm in the Housing Disrepair Department.
Outside of work, Oreoluwa volunteers for the Traveller Movement and is actively involved in research projects for the organisation concerning the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Community.
Priyanka graduated with her LPC LLM in Legal Practice at the University of Law in 2020 . She has gained experience through her work in law firms in the areas of clinical negligence & personal injury litigation and civil litigation. She currently assists David Morris in Housing Disrepair matters. Priyanka is fluent in English and Hindi. Outside of work Priyanka enjoys partaking in acting and karate classes and reading cultural literature.
Harpreet completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in London and graduated from the University of Essex with LLB Honours in Law. With a keen interest in health and fitness, he was also a member of the Sports Federation and played for the University football team.
Harpreet recently worked as an immigration and conveyancing paralegal in a Law Firm based in Kent. He has a diverse work history and has even worked night shifts on large commercial construction sites. As an acting landlord himself, Harpreet understands the requirements of a good landlord and tenant relationship.
His voluntary work has enabled him to form close bonds with like minded volunteers throughout the UK and internationally in countries such as the US, Canada and Australia. In his spare time, he enjoys watching thought provoking documentaries, has a passionate interest in cinema and enjoys cooking;
Stephanie is a Consultant Solicitor for Barnes solicitors who has worked in law since 2007. Her specialism is Housing Law but she also has experience in civil litigation, including personal injury and commercial recovery.
Stephanie’s focus is on tenant’s rights, particularly dealing with disrepair and other adverse conditions affecting residents. Stephanie is a skilled litigator and enjoys mediation and dispute resolution. She is commercially minded, works flexibly to suit the needs of her client and works diligently to achieve a successful outcome. Stephanie is thrilled to work with Barnes solicitors which enables her to help tenants with a range of issues affecting their homes.
